She is extremely intelligent and high energy, and needs to expend energy constructively with interactive play sessions 3-4X/day. In addition to playtime, this cat would also benefit from mental exercise from activities such as puzzle toys/games, lick mats, or clicker training. Without providing activity for her mind and body, the cat may react with rough play, potentially resulting in bite/scratch incidents. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children. I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am. I am looking for a home with a patient person. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home. Sasha tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. ORLANDO - (14X on EPL) - Orlando has a severe upper respiratory infection caused by feline calicivirus, that is causing him to have oral ulcerations and a low appetite. He allows all medical handling and is currently on supportive care (i.e. fluids, appetite stimulant, ant-nausea medication, nebulization, pain medication). He needs continued treatment and low stress environment out of the shelter setting where he can recover. NOT EATING/APPETITE ISSUES ARE A DEATH SENTENCE IN THE SHELTER. 2. UDON - (7X ON THE EPL) He is a sweet, young adult cat with a severe upper respiratory infection. He is not eating and needs supportive care in a veterinary clinic in order to recover. Behaviorally, Udon is caustious to accept pets due to FAS but he will tolerate handling for medical treatments. NOT EATING/APPETITE ISSUES ARE A DEATH SENTENCE IN SHELTER. 3. TRUCKER (4X on EPL)- Trucker is a senior cat that has been diagnosed with diabetes and dental disease. He is currently on treatment for diabetes mellitus with an oral medication called Senvelgo. Trucker will need veterinary follow-up to manage his comorbidities. 4. PRINCELY (4X on EPL) - Medically, he is not eating due to a severe upper respiratory tract infection. He needs supportive care in a veterinary clinic to recover. He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. NOT EATING/APPETITE ISSUES ARE A DEATH SENTENCE IN THE SHELTER. 5. NOUGAT - Nougat is diabetic with diabetic neuropathy. He has been started on treatment for his diabetes. Nougat will need daily maintenance with their medical condition and further follow up with outside vet care. Nougat has allowed all handling. 6. LOLA JEWEL - - Lola Jewel came to the shelter with a history of seizures. She had never been on medication and it was reported her seizures were brief. She has started on medication for seizures, but has had 2 brief seizure episodes so far. She would likely benefit from different medications to control her seizures and from more individualized care. She is a sweet girl who has been taking her current medication with ease. Lola Jewel also has a mild upper respiratory infection. 7. RAY RAY - He has developed an upper respiratory infection that has stopped him from eating. Ray Ray so far will not let us handle him for treatments. He needs a quiet environment to heal and receive individualized attention. Ray Ray is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. Let's brush up on some feline body language together! A volunteer writes: Milo wants to be part of the action, he just isn't always sure how to explain that to people. This is relatable and I feel for him. He's a go, go, go, go kind of cat who wants to do all this going at his own pace. Milo's improved quite a bit since coming to us and seems characteristically eager to demonstrate this through repeatedly leaping off his den with a flourish. Since I wasn't entirely sure where Milo was going with this, I offered a pipe cleaner feather, which happily kept his interest for a few moments before he decided nuzzles were better. Then he decided that it was probably best to see the town, as it were, leaning his whole little cat self over my arm in his efforts to get just a tiny bit better view. But there's even more to love. "He is very friendly. He tends to like to be around people, involved in whatever you're doing, and loves to sleep on our laps or at our feet." His previous family shared that Leo has always loved meeting new people, greeting visitors with enthusiastic head bunts, cuddles, and plenty of charm. That affectionate, social spirit shines through every day at the shelter. The moment someone walks by, Leo stretches his chunky paws up on his door, eager to say hello and hopeful that today might be his day. He rolls onto his back, reaches for attention, and greets each new visitor like an old friend. Leo is one of those cats who simply wants to be part of your world. Whether he's supervising your chores, soaking up affection, or flopping over for belly-up stretches, he brings a special mix of sweetness, goofiness, and companionship that has made him a staff and volunteer favorite. Leo is looking for the right home where his behavioral needs can be understood and managed. He has a history of getting extremely overstimulated. He would prefer a home without any children or any other pets. He needs lots of playtime and enrichment to help him settle in and live his best life. Beneath it all is a big-hearted, affectionate cat who has never stopped believing that his people are out there. We can't wait for the day this lovable boy finally gets the happy ending he's been waiting so patiently for. Leo is in need of some extra activity due to his weight gain in care. He would do best in a home with adopters who are willing to give him plenty of time and space to adjust, and who have experience with helping a fearful cat adjust to strangers. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: My purr motor is always running! I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home. Professor is laying on top of his den, front paws hanging over the edge as he observes the room around him. When the kennel door is opened, he leans forward to sniff the assessor's hand, allowing and leaning into petting on the head and cheeks. He is able to be coaxed down from the top of the den with a squeeze up, quickly beginning to eat it as the assessor holds it out in front of him. Professor appears a bit unsure of his current environment, tensing, body rippling, and looking around the room as noises occur or as other cats begin to meow. He tolerates all petting, tail held high in a question mark position. Professor is slowly coaxed out of the kennel, hesitantly stepping out and lip licking. He is able to be easily picked up, remaining calm and purring when he is held. When he is placed back into the kennel, he remains at the front, continuing to allow and lean into all further petting and attention. Although Professor is social, tolerant, and friendly with handler in the shelter, he does have a bite/scratch history in his previous home that may require further investigation before placement in a home. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you
