I think the internet is actually the best way to find real connections/friends, especially if you have more niche interests or ways of thinking it just makes sense structurally, the odds of finding people who are a “match” are obv way higher when your pool is millions of people vs whoever happens to live around you probably why so many people have friends they randomly met through fortnite, discord, twitter etc you do have to actually participate online though, not just consume
