On 01 Aug members of IRISHPOLBATT held a commemorative ceremony to mark the 77th anniversary of the Warsaw uprising during WW2 and in memory of all those who lost their lives. Sirens played across the camp at 1800 to coincide with the 1700 beginning of commemorations in Poland.

This morning I said goodbye to my wife & children. 2 weeks quarantine prior to deployment of 118Bn to UNIFIL. 7 months before I see them again. Many other soldiers were doing the same. At times we ask a lot of our loved ones. Just to say to them #thankyou @defenceforces @6_Inf_Bn

While the 6 Bn and DF continue to support @HSELive we all need to follow the public health advice to help our health workers in our battle against #COVID19

"We have 4 times as many inpatients with #COVID19 as we had in the first wave. It’s especially important that everyone sticks to the public health advice in order for us to continue to look after people who need intensive care". Dr John Bates, Critical Care Consultant #ICU #UHG.

After a week of tactical exercises and a loaded march back to Custume Bks with full kit our recruits are presented with their berets. They have trained hard in isolation for weeks away from friends and family. Next week they will be presented with their 2 Star rank. Congrats all.
