I have epilepsy. When I was 21 a pastor told me it was because I had a demon and I should let him “pray it away.” It did a ton of harm. The Bible and Faith are not sufficient for every single thing. Otherwise no one would ever die and we’d have a cure/solution for all illness.

Day 2 was a hard day. I’ve done something to my right knee. Ugh. Still did 11 miles but I’m hobbling. Lessons to ponder from today: - why do I feel such shame over this? No one but me cares how many miles I walk. - It’s okay to ask for help. Wise, even. - I can still pray.

A word to the pastors on Twitter: Mental and emotional health is physical health. Pastors are not therapists. Biblical counselors are not therapists. If you want to help, know your limits and refer to trained, qualified, skilled professionals.

I’m both embarrassed and proud to share that I GOT MY DRIVER’S LICENSE TODAY!!!!!! I had one before, but when I moved to Ohio my license expired, and OCD has been preventing me from going and taking the test for 2 years. I did have a panic attack beforehand. But I did it!!!
@janjowen Jan, may I say? 🙏 Just let it all go. All of it. It’s too heavy to drag around. And this list is too much to keep on repeat. Wouldn’t it be great, and freeing , not to have anything on your mind except for the beautiful Camino ?! Just close your eyes and say, "No more."
