If every Badger fan that complained about transfers and called for Gard to be fired contributed to the Varsity Collective we would be able to afford Chucky and Storr 10x over. Transfers today have very little to do with coaching, and everything to do with 💰 I don’t like it either, but that’s the reality of college sports today. When there is no protection for schools, players go to the highest bidder. That’s the only thing that matters
I meant this more as a “if I had a dollar for every time I…” type statement but apparently many fans are taking this as a direct attack to them. I’m not blaming fans, I’m just saying. Money is all that matters. If players can make more money elsewhere, they leave. That’s the reality
@jberggren40 Loyal fans? Maybe there should be loyal players, too. This NIL money and portal have changed college sports for the worst. It’s ridiculous.
@jberggren40 I laugh at the “blame this on common people narrative”. Such a loser mentality.
@jberggren40 Don't fans already buy tickets? Now they're expected to pay more?
@jberggren40 Let’s admit then that academics has been thrown out the window. Should we even call it COLLEGE basketball now? More like the G League 2.0. If it’s a race to which school has the deepest donor pockets I’m kut as a fan.
@jberggren40 Holy smokes the responses to this are something else.
