Why don't email marketers encourage users to choose their content preferences during sign up? Emails would then serve what subscribers want to receive? Preferences for: offers + promotions, education, brand updates, etc. >Open and click rates would improve & lower unsubscribes?

4 days has elapsed since I subscribed to @ahrefs' Standard plan. 15% of the total credits allotted has been used despite judicious usage. Deep joy for this company has turned to deep resentment. Psychologically, my switching cost threshold has significantly lowered.
