Many of the artists on here have demonstrated their dedication to keeping marginalized folks (including those with disabilities) out of their community and the marketplace. Gen AI says "fuck that." Those barriers come down now, and I'm here for it.

@jess_miers People putting GenAI as a tool for people having disabilities are using a smokescreen. Many great artist with various disabilities can still paint, sketch, draw, visualize without the need of stealing the hard work of someone else.
@jess_miers Oh please - GAI makes everyone think they have talent. Or rather that talent doesn’t matter anymore. To say nothing of lots of people of lesser means without devices and connectivity to take advantage of this.
@jess_miers I have a leg in both communities (AI and creativity). My advice is to just mute the conversation if you are barraged with ad hominem attacks or strawmen. Focus on people who genuinely want to engage in your work, rather than people who want to get SEO perks.
@jess_miers That’s funny, nobody tried to keep actual disabled artists, including those who paint with their feet or mouth from doing so. In fact they’re celebrated. Ai image generation does not make someone an artist, it makes them someone able to download a program made from stolen art.
lol there's nothing keeping you from picking up a pencil. You want to compete? Fine, do it. Just don't steal.
@jess_miers it’s an insult to disabled people to suggest that they are not capable of participating in creative communities without using generative AI
@jess_miers The art community is comprised of a metric fuck ton of marginalized folks and those with disabilities. Stop talking out of your ass and using people as a shield for theft, it's disgusting.
