To show what a chud DHH is, I spent 5 minutes looking at this and figured out he is using gnutar on Linux and bsdtar on macOS. The difference is bsdtar gets put into the background priority class. Just changing that cut the time by 50%, to under 6 seconds. I'm sure there's more

Oh wow. That's interesting. It's true that "Screen Space Reflections Quality" is set to "Pycho" rather than "Ultra" on macOS. On PC it's correctly set to "Ultra". Yields a difference of 35%! @lafaiel @jordanstonenz settings are 1080p Ultra with no upscaling or fg.

These figures from Tom’s guide are weird. They have the M2 Pro as over twice as fast as the M4 Pro for CP2077 Ray Tracing Ultra. They compare PC and Mac at different resolutions. tomsguide.com/gaming/we-benc…
