@JimmyTraina Because of the risk of creating an uncomfortable spectacle and distraction, as you mentioned last week, is there any chance ESPN just cuts Troy Aikman loose before the Super Bowl and assigns a different analyst? Pitch for Northville, MI.

Tom Brady says his career turned around when a sports psychologist told him to stop complaining about what he wasn’t getting and start stewarding what he had the right way “Greg said to me, ‘Why don’t you quit bitching about all the things you’re not getting, and how about you

An MIT professor gives a student $5 and says: send any amount to a stranger in this room. Whatever you send triples. The stranger decides how much comes back. Rational answer: send nothing. You lose every dollar you trust. Most students send almost everything. Most strangers return more than half. The math says keep it. The room says otherwise. Then the professor runs a different game. Same cash. Same room. One student splits. The other can only accept. No rejection. No consequences. The offers collapse. Not to zero. But enough to see the line between generosity and strategy. One year a student got Swiss chocolate instead of cash. She was lactose intolerant. Gave away 100%. The professor noted it. The class laughed. Nobody noticed the point. She had zero cost of generosity. The moment giving costs nothing, everyone is generous. The moment real money hits the table, the room divides into the same two groups every semester. People who send first. People who wait. Labor, capital, arbitrage, insurance. Four ways to make money. All four require the same opening move. You send value before you see a return. A paycheck after the work. A deposit before the interest. A bet before the edge. A premium before the claim. The lecture is free. MIT filmed it years ago. The game runs every semester. The split barely changes. Sending first is free. Knowing if it comes back is the part that costs something.

This skateboard trick may never be eclipsed. Danny León, a Spanish Olympic skateboarder, set up this shot and landed it during today's eclipse in Spain. Perfect planning!

Fernwood Bakery on Maple Street in Galveston, Texas. Every morning at 8:10, the same thing happens. The door is propped open for deliveries. A tan mixed-breed with a gray muzzle walks in. Ignores the bread. Ignores the customers. Goes directly to the owner, Rosa, 67, who lost her husband of 41 years last spring. The dog, who the staff calls Dulce, stands up and wraps both paws around Rosa's shoulders. Holds for about fifteen seconds. Then leaves. This has happened every morning for six months. Rosa told us: "I don't know where she comes from. She won't take food. She won't stay. She just comes to hug me and then goes." Her daughter said: "Dulce started coming the week after the funeral. Same time. Every single day." Some things arrive exactly when they are needed most.
