A big learning from working w/100s of founders: one of the ingredients to success that you have the most control over is focus. Time and resources are limited & every choice has opportunity costs. If you never reject product ideas, customer leads, etc, you're not focused enough.

Apple is about to hit $1.8T market cap with only a few critical products. There’s an urge in startups to broaden your feature set way too soon. In most cases your market is far larger than you realize, and staying focused is far better than chasing more spaces.

Ultimately, if your goal is to be a founder, the bigger risk is not that you fail and can't try again b/c of a perceived blemish on your record— It’s that, if you don’t start enough companies, you won't get enough actual shots on goal to actually create an enormous company.
