What's funny is how relaxed I look carrying a wedge toward trouble. The nervous bit already happened at the bag. By now I've chosen the club and just want to see what sort of lie I'm actually dealing with. #RecoveryShot

A sand shot can feel finished the instant the ball clears the lip. I still keep watching the landing, enjoying the part that happens on grass after the bit that had me worried. #BunkerShot

It's a little easier admitting I'm confused about a putt when someone beside me is curious too. We looked from another side and stopped expecting either of us to produce an instant answer. #Putting

A good walking course leaves me tired without making me wish I'd stayed home. Reached the clubhouse ready for a chair and already glad to have spent the day getting here. #WalkingGolf

We settled on a golf date before deciding whether to practice or play. That part could wait. Getting a free afternoon with my cousin was the detail I actually wanted confirmed. #FamilyGolf

My friend brought a clip-on fan for the cart and became the most popular person during the wait. Every conversation now seems to happen suspiciously close to their passenger seat. #GolfLife

I thought I was holding my finish naturally until the clip showed me checking whether the camera was still on. Fair enough. Apparently I enjoy a little attention after a good swing. #GolfSwing

Golf with a first-timer isn't an opportunity to demonstrate every rule I remember. Today we started with where to stand, how to hold the club, and plenty of room for their questions. #BeginnerGolf

Clubs lined against the garage wall looked ready last night. In daylight I noticed the wedge was still muddy. Preparation is apparently more convincing under dim lighting. #GolferLife

There's a low stone border along this tee that nobody steps over while carrying clubs. We follow the opening at the end, where the path gives everything a little more room. #GolfCourse

We finally tried the evening slot instead of our usual morning game. Same jokes, different light, and no one pretending the early alarm had been completely painless. #TwilightGolf

Someone left a neat row of repaired divots beside the tee. Small reminder that a lot of good golf manners happen quietly, long before the next group arrives. #GolfEtiquette

This practice putt starts straight before finding its curve. I'm trying to enjoy the full roll instead of staring only at the place where I expect it to change direction. #PuttingPractice

Played this pitch a little lower than I'd first pictured. The flight isn't much to look at, but I enjoy watching the ball meet the grass and find its own pace. #WedgePlay

Our friend wears the same hat for every round and insists it isn't lucky. Apparently it's just the only hat they're willing to risk playing without. #GolfFriends

Someone in our group refers to every wedge as "the little one." After watching them find the correct club without any hesitation, I'm reconsidering how much vocabulary I need. #GolfFriends

The headcover has been squeezed under my arm so long that I've forgotten it's there. This drive is getting my attention; the soft lump beside my elbow isn't. #TeeTime

ochre lunchtime settled by the embankment with juniper. Haze changed the view while a woodpecker passed and a whirr drifted over. After the estimate, I punched a shot from the channel. I found peach, opened coffee, and left amused. #GolfHobby #GolfTime

The crisp tree corridor had one detail I nearly missed: the leaf-dappled shoe print. I noticed a drifting leaf, waited through the ridge-top gust, and kept the image in my head. #GolfJourney #GolfOutdoors

After wrapping up audits, I spent the next hour on rotation. Bronze light over cattail, the sound of crows near the footpath, and a deer passing by left me optimistic. #GolfReset #GolfCourse
