@johncblandii Again, that mindset comes into play only due to that there is a need for services like SWAT. For advanced riot control, heavily armed populace (which I approve of), etc. LA bank robbery comes to mind. Should they have just stuck with 9mm?... Your not thinking logically...
@johncblandii I am well aware that they can get a hold of the stuff. But you said the street patrol person, those in the picture are not doing the standard beat cop routine. All of the pictures I have seen of the beat cops are as I outlined above. That picture is of them setup for riots.
@johncblandii And what of the normal police officers attire is "war" gear? Last I checked they had a uniform, bulletproof vest, tactical pants + belt which usually means they have a tazer, pepperspray, a gun, and mic/camera setup. Perhaps I misunderstand "war" gear?
@johncblandii Doubly funny is the fact that LA was also where they had literal stand offs with people in full military gear making it very difficult for the police to respond..... I wonder if that is why they spend so much on "War" gear..
@johncblandii I like how you double quote "War" gear. I mean SWAT makes heavy use of "War" gear (and the more tools they get from the military the more options they have for handling situations), so are you claiming SWAT would be more capable of doing their job?
@johncblandii I can't answer a question that I don't know the answer to. We have seen mayors call in the National Guard and even a Mayor in DC kick them out. What is their true ability to call them in, I am not clear. However, if a mayor needed them, it would be front page news if they didn't.
@johncblandii The problem with your statement is the numbers don't work for your argument. 1 Republican mayor had issues. 1 of what was it 6 that were listed at the time? You are trying to pretend that because there is a statistical outlier it is far more even issue.

@johncblandii Your argument supposes that they aren't already following his plan. Scottsdale cracked down and the rioters went back to Phoenix and didn't come back... So why tell those who are already listening...?
@johncblandii What makes the numbers irrelevant? And the answer to your question is no. And the reason why is answered in why they left Scottsdale and went to Phoenix and didn't return the next night. If it helps to clarify Phoenix is a Dem mayor and they have had 4 straight days of protest.
@johncblandii (Discussing things via twitter is weird..) It seems that Scottsdale PD had no issue dealing with the protestors once it was understood they weren't there to be peaceful. (azcentral.com/story/news/loc…) Dem lead cities are covered more in the news. Seems simple to me.
@johncblandii I have stated no political narrative, I have only presented the facts of the situation. To be honest though I was not expecting such a dramatic difference in the numbers. I honestly assumed it would be closer to like 60/40 split. Maybe 70/30 at the worst.
