📢Another milestone down! Today the first stored beam in the new storage ring was reported. This accomplishment shows a 0.15 mA beam current stored in the new ring, a feat that demonstrates that the main storage ring systems are all functioning. aps.anl.gov/APS-News/2024-…
On 4/13/24 an electron bunch traveled around the full circumference of the new APS storage ring for the first time. Electron bunches injected today have circulated more than a dozen times. This is a major milestone in the process of bringing the newly upgraded APS into operation!
