Grief is so wild. One day you’re fine and the next you’re sobbing over a memory that feels pinned to your chest like a corsage.
@jvaughn411 Christmas #5 without my husband. I was doing okay then three days before sank like a bird hitting a plate glass window.
@jvaughn411 @MissDestructo Absolutely! I am a grief therapist but also on a long grief journey myself.
@jvaughn411 During the first year, you expect breakdowns. By the fifth or sixth year, the things which "trigger" your emotions are often unpredictable. I remember feeling that I had reached a milestone when I walked through the art supplies section at Wal-Mart without breaking down.
@jvaughn411 @Feisty_Waters It’s been 31 years since I lost a family member to suicide. This year on his birthday I broke down and cried for most of the day.
@jvaughn411 Agreed, comes in waves and very difficult to control at times.
@jvaughn411 I heard a song I haven't heard in a long time. I started crying. I was crying about something that happened 30yrs.ago. I hope you feel better.🫶🙏❤️
@jvaughn411 @babumoshaaye Or a dream that you wish you never wake up from, but when you do it makes you feel dark and lost once again, like resetting whatever progress you’ve madr made so far.
@jvaughn411 @kimster_giggles Beautifully described 👍, Thank you. Been there, bear the scars. 🧐
