Excited to share our new work spearheaded by @insekim with @eline_kupers & @garilerma in which we developed a new empirical & computational framework for estimating spatiotemporal receptive fields in units of milliseconds and degrees with fMRI jneurosci.org/content/44/2/e…
This is surprising as the temporal resolution of fMRI is in seconds. So how did we do it? There are two key ingredients: First - show stimuli not only in many locations but also in many timings at each location including brief durations and varying intervals
@kalatwt @insekim @eline_kupers @garilerma The discovery of organizational principles regarding spatiotemporal pRFs could be a significant stride in neuroscience. How do these findings enhance our understanding of visual processing, and what potential implications could this have for neurological or visual disorders?
