“I am a professor” “I am a professor of Economics” -Yelled by @EmoryUniversity Prof Guillaume Calabretto. She walked on campus and saw students being arrested and yelled “What the hell is happening?” And then she was thrown to the ground, handcuffed, and arrested. **Yall I am professor too and I believe that if we don’t speak about what is happening to our students and colleages, this regime will not stop. They will come for us too as academic freedom and tenure are also on the chopping block. So they just want us to shut up and teach but what if resistance to fascism is what I am teaching…
Correction: this is Caroline Fohlin, who is an economics professor (and expert on pre-WWI Germany).
@kayewhitehead @EmoryUniversity Now she's an arrested professor.
@kayewhitehead @EmoryUniversity She touched a cop and resisted. She got the exact treatment to be expected.
@kayewhitehead @EmoryUniversity When they start throwing older white women to the ground for it seems literally nothing, none of us is safe.
@kayewhitehead @EmoryUniversity Not any of the people calling in the police/national guard remember we are only 8 days from the 54th Remembrance of Kent State. May 4, 1970.
@kayewhitehead @EmoryUniversity There was no need to place her on the ground in order to cuff her. That officer will be unemployed soon.
@kayewhitehead @EmoryUniversity That is not Guillaume Calabretto being arrested, it is Caroline Fohlin, who is indeed an economics professor (and expert on pre-WWI Germany).
@kayewhitehead @EmoryUniversity So all the citizens who live in that town are going to have to pay the lawsuit for the police lawfully, abusing people. It’s coming out of your tax dollars.
@kayewhitehead @EmoryUniversity I believe you have misidentified the professor, but yes it is chilling and shameful.
@kayewhitehead @EmoryUniversity I guarantee or at least hope that officer and any other on that campus would want a caring adult to intervene if they saw someone aggressively handling a young person. Because even if they were in the wrong (they weren’t) this is never deserved.
