Below is the draft chart for the #Bears and trade equivalent valuations of each pick (Jimmy Johnson traditional model) It’s a handy reference I like to use to see at a glance where every team’s pick is and possible trade scenarios It’s so weird seeing the #Bears with such few picks, but this draft to me is more about blue chip/quality players than the volume drafting that Poles has been known for. And that scenario of fewer picks is ideally suited for this draft, as late rounds are not seen as strong vis-a-vis previous drafts. More picks is always better than less, but having no late round picks this draft isn’t a bad thing as the hit rate will be lower Next year when we have a lot more picks, we will return to regularly scheduled Poles drafting It also helps to think that Sweat & Allen trades are “part” of this draft class. Two high quality blue chip moves from Rd 2 & Rd 4 already 😉
As a follow on, attached the charts for rest of NFC North CHI ▪️ 4615 points of value ▪️ 4 picks (3 in Top 100) DET ▪️ 1204 points ▪️ 7 picks (3 in Top 100) GB ▪️ 1902 points ▪️ 11 picks (5 are in Top 100) MIN ▪️ 2206 points ▪️ 9 picks (2 in Top 100) FWIW, I think the NFC North will become the AFC North but younger. All four of the teams are getting better & competition will be fierce for a long time. This isn’t a division that will be easily won by a dominant team - or have a clear perennial cellar dweller. Will have more winning teams / better combined W-L than most / more than one playoff contender for the foreseeable future
@kct2020 Poles has only been here 2 years, how is it weird. Pace gave picks away like tootsie rolls at a parade. The approach this front office has taken is refreshing. Axtually looks like a modern day sports franchise. Utilizing assets and identifying surplus value.
@kct2020 The problem with these charts is people tend to use them as gospel rather than guidance. For example, the value of Caleb Williams is much higher than that of Bryce Young. This draft has far less depth than last year or next. This draft goes deeper with blue chip talent.
@kct2020 Folks, if you aren’t following Kirsten, you are missing out on Grade A content. One of the best out there!!
@kct2020 Didn't mind giving up a 5th for Bates either. IOL that can play all 3 positions and had starting experience.
