Can’t possibly describe on this platform the joy he brought so many of us. Absolute legend. RIP Lefty.
@kevinsheehanDC Always enjoyed walking to his house from Springbrook High and playing basketball in his backyard he was just fun to be around ..Great dad, coach and person
@kevinsheehanDC May Lefty RIP.....He was such an awesome coach and man. I grew-up 10 miles from College Park (1980 Grad), and the 1974 team led by Lefty with @TomMcMillen611 and @LenElmore put Terps basketball into my veins! Saw many great games at Cole. Lefty was a legend and one of a kind!
@kevinsheehanDC The Brotherhood. Just joking. 😉 He was one of a kind! A true character / amazing personality. And a damn fine coach! Growing up Maryland (with Lefty) were always our 2nd favorite team. And back then they beat my team ALOT! RIP to the ‘Ol Lefthander!
@kevinsheehanDC Good hygiene and ice cream...two of Lefty's core principles. I'm sue Coach Thompson was right there to great him. RIP big guy.
@kevinsheehanDC Loved Lefty and the Terps back in the heyday of the ACC!! Ernie Graham, Buck Williams, Dutch Morley and all those awesome Players!! Unfortunately, they don’t make them like Lefty anymore. True Character & Legendary Coach! RIP Coach Lefty!!! 🙏🏻#Lefty
@kevinsheehanDC Lefty was great. Might not have won the NCAA Championship, but he was a great coach. Run out of town unjustly by John Slaughter. That IS a hill I will die on.
@kevinsheehanDC One of the greats. Put MD basketball on the map and drove interest in basketball locally as well. Great man and great coach. RIP
@kevinsheehanDC RIP lefty! I was just admiring your mural at JMU last week. Thanks for putting UMD basketball on the map. he famously and boldly stated that Maryland "has the potential to be the UCLA of the East Coast or I wouldn’t be here"
@kevinsheehanDC One of my favorite things about him is that he had a dog named "Rebound". RIP Lefthander.
