We told you that gay people were next. Texas SB1443 would ban from school libraries any books that have characters who are of the same sex in a relationship. It also bans trans characters. It bans website access with the above too. Don't think they'll stop with trans people.

This might be an unpopular grad student opinion, but I like when students come to office hours. Most of my pre-grad experience teaching has been tutoring or small (<15 person) HS classes, and I enjoy working with students more closely.

This is insane. Moderna is planning to charge $130 for its Covid vaccine. It only costs $2.85 to make. Taxpayers paid 100% of Moderna’s Covid vaccine development. We paid $2,500,000,000. This is the people’s vaccine. Shame @moderna_tx into changing course.

I remember being bewildered by "compactness" as a first-year college student and wish I'd had access to this article back then. Students and teachers of advanced calculus, real analysis, and point set topology may find it helpful or even illuminating. arxiv.org/abs/1006.4131

Math Proofs in all of my courses of theorems pretty much follow this general strategy. Theorem: hard case By lemma we want to show X Paragraph of observation, therefore without loss of generality easy case It is clear/Exercise to show X

People like Rep Clock, who has proposed legislation to detransition all trans youth, now will see that his own bill is enormously unpopular and will result in major blowback. It is an EXTEME position to want to hurt trans teens.

Y’all I can’t overstate how big a victory we just won in Ohio for trans people was. We got a boardroom full of Republican school officials to vote AGAINST moms for Liberty anti trans policies. The activists speeches objectively swayed things. The anti-trans group was stunned.

I love grad school normalizing 60-70 hour weeks, love that during GTA training the question of how to juggle doing research and taking 3 courses and preparing for quals and teaching 6 credits was answered by simply work more hours

One thing that IS totally clear about US kid COVID deaths, is they are getting worse every year. 2020 - 219 kids died 2021 - 798 died 2022 (Jan-Aug) - 705 died, on track for > 1100+ child COVID deaths It isn't getting better. It isn't "mild". We're endangering our children.
