A life-giving relationship with the scriptures will emerge from a disposition of delight. “Delight in the Law of the Lord”. The result: fruitfulness in due season and legacy. Impatience with the Bible, a disposition of domination, will alienate you from the source of life.

A thought (for Christians): If the loudest voice in our heads is our own, it will do us well to pause before speaking. It's also one of a thousand reasons to meditate on the Scriptures. If His voice is even a little louder, it could be a blessing to all around us.

Honest question. How much time did you spend in the gospels last week? Actually in them, beholding Jesus & being shaped by his vision, person & mission? I don’t want to be someone talking about Jesus and critiquing others, yet spending 15-20 minutes a week popping into the text.

#guidedmeditations #holyweek Matt 26.57-75 Candle 3: Darkness now covers Jesus’s final three hours. Turn off all lights at home or workspace, maybe even until the sun sets. Try and sketch out some evils in the world you fear or dread. Imagine those evils under the cross.
