Software development that ships in weeks, not months.
Modern tools + lean team = enterprise quality at small business prices.kreotic.dev Brooklyn, NYJoined November 2023
unpopular ask for devs:
what AI tools do you actually use everyday? Not the ones you tweet about being excited about
bonus round: which one does everyone hype that you opened twice and never touched again?
Curious for the small business owners here:
What's the one repetitive task in your business you've never automated because every solution you looked at was either too expensive or too generic?
The most dangerous phrase in software:
"We'll figure that out later"
Later is where:
- Scope creep lives
- Budget overruns are born
- Timelines go to die
Figure it out in hour one or pay for it in month four.
Founders who have raised pre-seed:
What did your MVP actually look like?
Not the polished version you show now, the embarrassing first version that got you your first users.
Drop it below. Building a thread.
Small business owners:
If you could automate one repetitive task in your business tomorrow, what would it be?
Asking because the answer is usually a $5k fix people assume costs $50k.
Startup founders who have shipped a product:
What do you know now that you wish someone had told you before you hired your first dev?
Building a thread from replies.
Drop it below
Unpopular opinion:
a $5k website will make you more money than a $50k custom build at the pre-revenue stage.
Validate first, build second.
Most founders have this backwards.
Devs: What's the one thing you wish clients understood before kickoff?
Ours: Scope creep doesn't just cost money.
It costs momentum.
and momentum is everything in early stage builds.
"We just need something simple"
Things that are never simple:
- User authentication
- Payment processing
- Calendar Sync
- Real-Time Notifications
- Admin Dashboards
There is no such thing as a simple app.
Plan accordingly
@TTrimoreau The people. A model startup founder genuinely believes they can change something that everyone else has accepted as normal. That level of self belief looks crazy from the outside but it's exactly what separates the ones who ship from the ones who just talk about it.
@mchulet Hey, we're Kreotic, a small software team building custom web apps and platforms for startups. Always looking to connect with people in the startup and dev world.
Honestly it depends on the market. In b2b it still works if you've done your homework. A well researched email to the right person still opens doors in 2026. Consumer though? Don't bother. People aren't buying from cold emails they didn't go looking for. One targeted outreach beats a hundred generic ones every time.
Before you hire any dev agency ask these 3 things:
1. Who specifically writes the code?
2. Show me a project that went over budget and what you did about it.
3. What does "done" mean for this scope?
Their answers will tell you everything.
You're welcome to steal this
@JaykhatriDev We shipped a full-stack barbershop booking platform in 6 weeks.
The client had been quoted 5 months by another agency.
How:
- 2 senior engineers
- No overhead
- Fixed sprint scope
This is the real one.
Most projects failures aren't technical, they happen in the first conversation. The fix is brutal honestly upfront: what does done actually look like? Not features. Outcomes.
If you can't agree on that in hour one,
no amount of good code saves the project.
Founders, when you needed a website or app built, what was your biggest frustration?
- Took too long
- Cost more than quoted
- Quality wasn't there
- Poor Communication
Reply with yours - genuinely curious
@Devsthetix Hey - we're Kreotic.
We build custom software and web apps for startups that need things shipped fast. Full stack, real engineers, no fluff.
Always looking to connect with people in the startup and development space.
@KaiXCreator Shipping on time.
Anyone can start a build. Almost nobody
delivers on the date they said, at the scope
they promised, without invoice surprises.
Execution is the moat.
