Big news: I’m delighted to announce that I will be taking up the position of CEO of NPR starting in late March. NPR has been a lifelong part of my soundscape, and I credit its reporting with sparking my curiosity that set me onto the path to become the person I am today.
NPR represents so much of what I believe in: the importance of civic institutions, high-quality public information, and our universal human inclination to curiosity. I couldn’t be more excited to join this incredible institution and essential mission. 🎉
Sadly, it does mean I’ll be stepping down as Web Summit CEO on March 1. I’ve absolutely loved my time with Web Summit. I’ve been bowled over by the team's talent, energy, and frankly -- general good vibes -- and this appreciation has only grown with each passing week.
I will be staying on the board of directors, and will remain on as CEO to deliver our first event in the Middle East, Web Summit Qatar, at the end of February which is looking to be double the size we expected. (P.S., You should come: qatar.websummit.com!)
@krmaher Would that be the same Qatar that harbors Hamas leaders and rewards them with lavish gifts?
@krmaher Yeah because that's where all the rich masters, oppressing & starving their people, are.
@krmaher Why is it that climate activists are the ones with the most frequent flier miles?
@krmaher How was Qatar? Did you say "Hi" to Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar while you were there? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahya_Sin…
