The Maryland House Democrat Caucus just took a cheap shot at BJ Hall and me today with a video. No, Delegate Wu, Early Voting doesn't run the entire month of November. But thank you for proving once again that without a double standard, the Maryland House Democrat Caucus would have no standard at all.

This is the saddest thing ever to watch. Wes Moore is looking for someone to play with because his race isn’t getting any national attention so he has to fabricate enemies. Wes Moore keeps warning Marylanders about MAGA money influencing Question 3. Show the receipts, because the national GOP hasn’t poured anything into this state. Meanwhile, campaign filings show $500,000 from George Soros-funded Democracy PAC and another $500,000 from an AFSCME fund going to Fight Back MD. That’s $1 MILLION in reported transfers backing Question 3. Then there’s the $15 million Wes Moore has raised. If outside political money is the problem, Governor, why aren’t you talking about the money supporting your side? Vote NO on Question 3. If for no reason other than he is trying to turn this into another bronze star moment for himself.

Invoices were never submitted, sign-in sheets were missing, and payments went out for children who were no longer enrolled. ⠀ Instead of pursuing collection, the department announced it would not move forward with broad recoupments. Officials also planned to return money that some providers had already repaid. One provider told reporters the money was not earned and the service was not provided. ⠀ Maryland law requires overpayments to be collected. The Child Care Scholarship Program grew from $132 million to $560 million in five years while the same officials admitted the tracking systems were never adequate. ⠀ If an ordinary taxpayer received an overpayment from the state, collection would follow.
