We have now launched our 2021-22 Debate Day programme. Open to all year 12 & 13 students in England & Wales, years 12-14 in Northern Ireland and S5 & S6 in Scotland. Applications close 11 October - visit supremecourt.uk/debate-days.ht… to apply.
Judges need to stop shouting at counsel. We don’t go to work to be shouted at. No one should. What’s even more frustrating is when you notice judges who are keen to shout at young females but not older males. It’s workplace bullying.
Big shout out to any fellow non-double-jabbed key workers spending the day in an unventilated public building with hundreds of members of the public in 30 degree heat. Happy Freedom Day!
Do we still want a more diverse Bar because I’m so confused by what I’m seeing on the TL. For many from underrepresented groups, the Bar course year is the first time you have access to vital career advice, pro bono work, etc. We can’t get pupillage without these resources.
