@WindowsLatest Preventing PC makers from pushing mandatory BIOS updates.
@phantomofearth That means after 27H2 is released on a new codebase (which will be Strontium), 26H2 (and 26H1 for ARM) will keep getting new features until November 2027.
@XenoPanther This is because you can't add FODs on Insider builds unless you link your Microsoft account to the Insider service on the OS. This happened to me for every FOD on Future Platforms, not just the Developer Mode Core package.
@JenMsft Insider Download Center links are broken, with GatewayExceptionResponse errors for many of them.
@MaazMz This used to be Microsoft 365. It was turned into Copilot (the older Copilot app was retired).
@bySheaCohen That's for AI, not the core Notepad and Markdown features!
@MrMario2011 I think that the extra engineering for a dedicated server-specific UX was completely out of the table for Microsoft.
@Sans_Google If someone has your face, then they can seize your account.
@TrisH0x2A also you can cheapen out on efficiency using web apps. those memory hogs save big companies tens of millions since the auto sync with web services.
@linuxuser1996 Microsoft has been doing the same thing in Bing for years.
@XenoPanther Did you know that security questions are stored on the registry in plaintext? Access the SYSTEM hive with SYSTEM/TrustedInstaller privileges and you can compromise a user. youtube.com/watch?v=C-z2rW…
@XenoPanther Did that happen when you opened Edge with 3D acceleration enabled? I also have this issue with Server build 29651, disabling 3D acceleration fixes this issue.
@smasithick If you don't live in one of the four countries where this starts, then you won't yet need to activate this setting until next year.
@Marcin_Chwala @WindowsCentral they can' just jump the kernel version to 11.0 because of compatibility issues. microsoft keeps 10.0 because everyone assumed that windows 10 would be forever so many software is likely hardcoded to only recognize =10.0 and not >=10.0
@techdroider I only ever get these on my watch, usually when using Samsung Browser as soon as I remove the watch from the charger. It disables the action panel and all apps except Settings, but quick tiles remain available. It also enables Airplane mode and disables Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
@WindowsCentral MMC applets are almost the same as in Windows 2000. So far, they work but they need proper DPI support.
