Bitcoin is the world’s digital monetary system, and Lightning is Bitcoin’s payments layer. Coinbase’s integration with Lightning will give its 100 million users an on-ramp to faster and cheaper bitcoin transactions. Hats off to Coinbase!
The team did a great job digging into this, and we've made the decision to integrate Lightning. Bitcoin is the most important asset in crypto and we're excited to do our part to enable faster/cheaper Bitcoin transactions. Will take some time to integrate so please be patient.
Augmented intelligence! Profound possibilities and, as with all technologies, some serious risks.
"The real conundrum is whether human minds can grasp the profound complexity these machines are starting to unfold. It's an inverse Turing Test of sorts, where the subject of examination is no longer the machine but humanity itself." psychologytoday.com/intl/blog/the-… #AI @CathieDWood
The convergence between Bitcoin - and AI could transform the way companies organize, causing a collapse in costs and an explosion in productivity. I was blown away by the possibilities these brilliant entrepreneurs are creating. Look for this podcast on Thursday!
🎙️earlier today @yassineARK + I recorded Bitcoin Brainstorm EP02, a @bitcoinpark_ x @ARKInvest podcast w/ @CathieDWood, @roasbeef, @kodylow, @downingARK, + Paul Itoi. This month's topic: AI & Bitcoin We covered a lot in a little over 1hr. Excited to share w/ y'all next week 🙏
Since 2014, our analysts have been dissecting the AI revolution. While big benchmarks highlight mega tech, we think AI's true potential lies beyond them in focused, agile companies. In this paper, we highlight potential opportunities built on AI. ark-funds.com/articles/comme…
In this paper, @ARKInvest and @glassnode highlight the power of on-chain analytics to assess the dynamics within and health of the Bitcoin blockchain. If the traditional financial system had been this transparent and analyzable in 2008-2009, it would have escaped the GFC.
Is there a way to improve the MVRV ratio, one of the most widely used on-chain metrics today? ARK's @dpuellARK & @glassnode's @_Checkmatey_ explain why AVIV ratio may be a better mean-reversion mechanism and potentially the true cost basis of the market. arkinv.st/47QSe2v
A 41% sequential drop in Chinese orders, wow!
China is exporting deflation in a more profound way than I believe many economists and strategists appreciate. All else equal, the 15% depreciation in the yuan relative to the dollar in the last year should have increased its PPI inflation rate by 15%. Instead it has dropped 4%.
China probably wants to limit, if not stop, the depreciation in CNY, the yuan. To do so, it could be selling US dollars and buying the yuan, effectively tightening its monetary policy and exacerbating the economy’s weakness even as it is “easing”.
In our view, the Fed has precipitated and exacerbated the risk of a global deflationary bust. The impact of its record-breaking 22-fold increase in the Fed funds rate could be hitting China first and spreading to the rest of the world.
Episode 1 of the Bitcoin Brainstorm brings to life the profound impact that bitcoin is likely to have on humanity. By the end of it, truth be told, I had goosebumps. Thank you Rod @bitkite and Yassine for hitting a home run in your first at-bat!
Episode 1 of the Bitcoin Brainstorm is here. An incredible conversation about building and scaling on Bitcoin, featuring: @CathieDWood @jackmallers @PrestonPysh @harry_sudock @obi w/ co-host @bitkite The future of Bitcoin is bright. youtube.com/watch?v=-vdtPl…
Brainstorm at its best! I learned so much from this amazing panel. Thank you Rod and Yassine for organizing it. Looking forward to sharing it with everyone on Thursday!
Just finished recording a new @ARKInvest x @bitcoinpark_ podcast feat. @CathieDWood, @jackmallers, @obi, @harry_sudock, @PrestonPysh, and my co-host this month, @yassineARK Thrilled with the conversation and how this turned out. Dropping on the ARK podcast feed next week.
Bingo!
Judge Failla: "It's not crazy in the Failla parlance for Coinbase to think that what they were doing was OK because it was exactly what you let them do when they issued the S-1 [IPO registration]." "That's the point I'm making." Note: the Judge says SHE is making this point.
We just finished another exciting brainstorm on #Tesla 's planned Dojo ramp, its ramifications for FSD and Nvidia, the likelihood of a #bitcoin ETF, and the first topical gene therapy for a rare and debilitating skin disorder. Stay tuned for the summary discussion with Nick and Sam in our partnership with Public on Tuesday!
This week on The Brainstorm, Associate Portfolio Manager @GrousARK and Director of Research, Autonomous Tech & Robotics @skorusARK discuss Reddit’s blackout, Toyota’s EV plans, LVMH + Epic Games, CRISPR rice and Blackrock’s spot bitcoin fund filing. Watch. arkinv.st/3XAPphD
If successful, this incredible ramp in compute will increase the odds that #Tesla will be the first to roll out a nationwide autonomous taxi platform, which we believe is a winner-take-most #AI-driven opportunity with SaaS-like margins.
Tesla forecasts ramping up to 100 exaflops of AI training capacity by Q4 2024. That's a huge number that implies an over 20x scaling from the 4.6 exaflops disclosed at AI Day 2022 (14k Nvidia A100 GPUs), and over 50x the A100 capacity discussed in 2021. This implies a compound
Take a look at how severe this Fed tightening cycle has been compared to past tightening cycles, including the one in 1980-81 that crushed inflation. So far, unprecedented Fed tightening has broken the regional banks and commercial real estate. What will deflation destroy next?
Like you, I was early in my career when you nailed the platform shift that ushered in the internet age. Thank you, @pmarca, for your perspective and inspiration as AI catapults us into an even more profound platform shift that could transform the lives of everyone on earth.
Why AI Will Save The World By Marc Andreessen The era of Artificial Intelligence is here, and boy are people freaking out. Fortunately, I am here to bring the good news: AI will not destroy the world, and in fact may save it. 🧵
Truth wins out!
The news today is great for EV adoption in the US. It's also great for using capital efficiently. Funds should be spent on the lowest cost highest performance charging stations. Not wasted on a fractured network that costs more to deploy anyway.
Because of regulatory uncertainty, innovation seems to be leaving the US for more friendly regimes. Unfortunate. I believe it will become an election-year issue.
Despite overall trading volumes down m/m, decentralized exchanges just printed their best month ever relative to centralized exchanges DEX volumes ($63.7 B) are now roughly equivalent to USD-supporting exchanges ($66.5 B) Clear signs activity is moving on-chain and off-shore
Adding another dimension to this month’s ITK, @downingARK and @summerlinARK - ARK’s AI hardware and AI software analysts - offer research thoughts about the #AI revolution, with history as a guide.
We believe innovation will be perceived as a flight to safety. Don't miss our brand new episode of "In The Know" with ARK CEO/CIO @CathieDWood! arkinv.st/43jjnsd
