Leeds City 2 v 1 Lincoln City, October 1907. Leeds City's good start to the season would dwindle off. Despite being second at the end of October, they would finish 12th in the Second Division, whilst Lincoln City would finish 20th out of 20.

The Spotted Cow Inn on Holbeck Moor, a popular place for Leeds fans before it burnt down in 2007. Cattle themed pubs were prominent in the area with the Bulls Head just down the road. The Holbeck Pitt Conservative Club stood next door, closed in 2002 but still seems to be there.

The Crescent Cinema on Dewsbury Road, Beeston. Opened in 1921 as a one screen cinema with a small variety stage. Closed in 1968, becoming a bingo hall, which closed in 2002. More recently been Churchills then Winston’s. Not sure of its current state.

Bournemouth’s first visit to Elland Road (I think) a postponed FA Cup game in Jan 1939. Bournemouth stayed in a hotel in Harrogate until the rearranged game the following Wednesday that Leeds won 3-1. Leeds players were served with tripe & onions for supper the week of the game.

Formed in 1889 by workers of the Leeds Steelworks, Hunslet Association Football Club were one of the original clubs in West Yorkshire. Eleven years later Hunslet were unable to find a suitable ground, leading them to fold. In 1904, some of the members helped to form Leeds City.

Mr Benge, the original Leeds United boot man used to fix players boots and running shoes in his shoe repair shop at the junction of Old Lane & Town Street, Beeston near what was the Beeston Coop today. He had his Beeston shop from 1901 till 1956 in two different places.
