One day a human child born on a distant planet will have to be taught about a place called Earth from where humankind originated.
@lexfridman Some people claim the moral high ground and say space isn’t ours to colonize. That said, the only way to ensure our species’ long term survival is to leave this planet, and ideally this system. There is no indication of intelligence beyond our world.
@lexfridman One day than people on Mars will say the existens of Earth is a hoax.
@lexfridman I still find it baffling that all this time, money and talent is being poured into reaching another planet that is completely desolate. Imagine it was all spent on this planet and then we wont need a backup. It will be luxury rather than necessity. Misguided brilliance.
@lexfridman Honestly I think that’s where this is@all heading eventually
@lexfridman Lex, it is a rather big and silly assumption to think that humankind must have originated on one of the single fairly young planets out of the hundreds of billions of planets that have existed billions of years longer than this Earth has.
@lexfridman and how we had to leave the planet in a hurry to get away from far left wing ideologues that ruined the planet
@lexfridman that child’s name? Son of X Æ A-12
@lexfridman And he also wouldn't care, all he would do is daydream about banging that 3-eyed-hottie in the same class.
