“People become so protective of the identity a job creates for them that they will work long, arduous hours, without pausing to consider if they are happy or fulfilled, to protect it” nytimes.com/2021/04/21/bus…
@liahaberman Inspiring stuff, but Dr. @jordanbpeterson definitely did it best: youtu.be/ApC0faRYabI
@liahaberman Absolutely...I need to understand this now... Thanks for sharing
@liahaberman We need to look at life if name or money doesn't matter. Happiness is most important thing. If we are happy it doesn't matter much where we live!!!
@liahaberman Wow! Interesting points. Glad he shared what he did #work
@liahaberman For many people their job is their survival and they will never have the security to pause or to pursue happiness. This is why we need a basic guaranteed income. Free people from working to survive, and enable people to work to thrive #basicincome
@liahaberman Yeah titles were generated by accountants and HR to justify monetary value. Almost like how grades/GPAsare used to define intelligence in children. That's like the very bare minimum of one's value - same with job titles. I have a generic job title because I wear so many hats.
@liahaberman As much as I worked this out in my younger years, what I see here is a colleague or boss who may well have made other lives hell who did not meet his own demanding work ethic. People in suits - corporates they actually don’t make the world go round. Hope he gets well though.
@liahaberman More than one reason why I stepped away and retired at the end of 2020. One, was deciding I wanted anytime I have left to be mine, not theirs.
@liahaberman Not me....if a job becomes too stressful I’m out. Like this guy says life is too short
@liahaberman @DrGJackBrown Truth. But ya need to pay rent. But definitely something to seriously consider
