🇧🇷🗳️Does Lula still have a chance?🐾🧵
Before October 4, every major poll had Lula ahead, the polls missed the gap by 3 to 5 points toward Lula.
However since the first round AtlasIntel cross-tabulates voting intention against what each respondent actually voted on October 4,
The literal worst thing that can happen in the near future is for a centralized platform like Kalshi to be the new "source of truth" for elections and other important informational markets.
1. They have the power to de-platform anyone through bans
2. Centralized arbiter of truth when contested info is present
3. Gets to decide what markets to list and promote
4. You are literally trading against their house market makers, not other people
5. Tax all markets like a sportsbook with ridiculous fees
Only benefit is they hide your trades lol
For too long, polls, pundits, and experts have told us what America thinks.
Prediction markets change that, putting power back in the hands of the people.
No gatekeepers. No handpicked voices.
Just millions of people putting conviction behind their beliefs.
Re: France
We had a calm week after some crazy scenes. New riots are already scheduled for this weekend, and this terror attack on minorities can add fuel to the fire quickly.
Let's gamboooooool on the State of Emergency market (link below)
Also have some boots on the ground so I will report back if my friend says anything.

Polling 101 🗳️
It's election season. Some basics on polling.
Two common ways pollsters collect samples:
1. Online Panels / Digital Recruitment
Generally cheaper and faster. Respondents are recruited through paid survey panels or directly online.
The problems are
My group commissioned a poll from SoCal Strategies for the LA mayoral race shortly after Labor Day.
The thesis was simple: the poll was cheap (especially split among us), the market had massive liquidity, and there were virtually no other polls available.
The results were genuinely fascinating. In fact, they convinced everyone in the group to load up on more Raman at 33c.
I'm not bothered one bit by the speculation swirling around Election Twitter.
Multiple polls released afterward confirmed the key trends we had identified. Raman's subsequent price appreciation only reinforced that we were on the right track.
But here's where it gets even more interesting.
Through multiple conversations with Wilson Rochford, the guy behind SoCal, I got a crash course in how the polling industry actually works.
Who supplies different types of samples. How much each sample should cost depending on the collection method. How long a survey should take to complete.
The rest of the modeling? AI can handle much of it. And I'm sure plenty of pollsters are already using it.
So yes, I'm absolutely thrilled we got "scammed."
Not only did we profit from Raman's price appreciation, but we also walked away with something far more valuable: knowledge we can carry into every future election cycle.
Consider it tuition paid. Except we actually made money.
And good luck to the next pollster trying to "scam" me.
