This is Hachikō. He was an Akita born on Nov. 10, 1923 in Japan. He was sold to Hidesaburo Ueno, a scientist at the University of Tokyo. Ueno named him Hachi after the number 8, which is considered lucky in Japan, and the two became inseparable...

I discovered Adrian Brandon's Stolen series during the height of the Black Lives Matter Protests. He colors portraits of POC who've been killed by the police. 1 minute of coloring for every year they were alive. It puts police brutality into perspective in a way no one else has.

My dad growing up was angry. He had a short fuse and he would stay angry. I chose to cut off that relationship, and it still makes me sad. I’m so glad Lucas has a father that’s willing to learn how to “gentle parent” with me ❤️
