I want to add that I don't have any ideological attachment to the concept of intellectual property, but I *do* recognize that we live in a society where people need to do more and more work for less and less of a life, and maybe defrauding people of their livelihood is wrong.

Support artists. Unless those artists are personally unlikable, I guess, then it's fine to take away their life's work and attempt to erase the very idea that they were instrumental in creating it.

So, what have we learned? We've learned that being a vad boss is enough for left leaning people to do the "he was no angel" shit and bend over backwards to justify you heing defrauded and stolen from.

@endevagames I apparently do, because all of these apparent Disco Elysium fans are using the law as moral justification for Kurvitz having his IP stolen, which is both i credibly funny and incredibly scary.

@endevagames @chrisbratt @austin_walker t from the fact that at the end of the day, there really isn't any equivocating his actions and Kompas's. Being a shitty boss isn't equivalent to fraud and embezzlement in the service of the theft of someone's intellectual property.

@endevagames @chrisbratt @austin_walker more on his character than it did on what it alleged in the title, which is the legal battle over Kurvitz's IP. Even if I have no love for the guy, he hit the nail on the head when he said that the point of the testimonials is to weaponize poor opinion against him, and to distrac

@GearyDigit @SoftMachineMan @chrisbratt The "abuse" was incompetent direction, personal unlikability and a poor work ethic, according to what was actually said by the employees. Things that deserved to get them taken out of leadership, not defrauded. And things that don't chanhe that they *were* defrauded.

@GearyDigit @SoftMachineMan @chrisbratt I bet you also support Nicalis coercing a guy who can't even read English into signing a shitty contract, ganking his IP from him, making two shitty remakes and then shelving it. Artists shouldn't have to be business geniuses. Companies should have to not steal their shit.

Going to go ahead and say: regardless of if you're a dick or not, you don't deserve to have your art stolen from you. What happened to Kurvitz is fucked up, and using a "but the workers" thing to deflect from it is also fucked up.

@chrisbratt @austin_walker especially considering that the current legal battle is making it so that the workers aren't getting paid. I'm honestly sad. I usually expect better journalism from People Make Games than tjis, but the both-sidesing has tested my faith.

@chrisbratt @austin_walker Honestly, Kurvitz's conduct is unprofessional and justifies taking him out of leadership, but it doesn't justify firing the original creative leads, and definitely doesn't justify snatching their IP. Kompas' claims of wanting to better the work environment deserve more scrutiny

@legal_ficti0n In Project Moon games, nearly every man in them is some mix of Harry Dubois and the Krenel mercenaries.

Project Moon: We're going to invent a guy, and then torture him. Just destroy him utterly, physically and spiritually. Absolutely massacre him. Me: Take my money, a kidney, and my soul.
