Funny there are people who recognize the hypocrisy of saying: "I support more housing, just not in my backyard." But they don't see the same in saying: "I support criminal justice reform, just not having a reform DA / police accountability in my city."

Everything about urban governance collapses when you peak beneath surface of how cities regulate cars, which is to say, not at all. Driving is the deadliest, most violent activity in most cities, but they focus enforcement on everything else: Unhoused residents, street vendors

The 18 affordable units they want to eliminate in this "compromise" are more affordable units than D4 built in the last 10 years (17 units). How are we going to meet any of our goals for new affordable housing? Definitely not like this.
