My first @figmadesign plugin to hide a layer from all instances of a component is out! It is now super simple to add layers to existing components and hide it from the hundreds of existing instances. Install, now! figma.com/community/plug…

After a lot of trial and error. Here is a working script that solves a problem that I am sure a lot of you are facing as well. Hope this helps! Would love to get to know your feedback on this and anything that you want me to add to this plugin :)

There wasn't a solution to this problem that we could find. So I decided to explore plugin development. Scripter plugin was a saviour at that point! I took some sample scripts written by @rsms and @alexjlockwood that gave me an idea of how to go about this.

My first try at scripting! A script to hide a layer from all instances of a component in @figmadesign using the Scripter plugin by @rsms. Finally, I can add more layers to my existing components that have hundreds of instances! 😅 #figma #figmaplugins figma.com/community/file…

When it comes to tabular interfaces, updates to the table structure was literally a nightmare. With @figmadesign's Auto Layout, it is magically fast! No more nudging of each cell! Check out how we have built these magical tables using Figma at Qube Cinema figma.com/community/file…

@brian_lovin Exactly! However, for some strange reason @msexcel overrides this shortcut to move between sheets. I'm so used to this on the other apps that I always end up switching sheets. Super frustrating 🥺

@Eugenedotfig @figmadesign Not sure about a plugin but you can add a mask and fill that mask with a fading gradient. That would get applied to the image as well

Best quarantine time pass is here! Play Tic Tac Toe (XO) within a Figma Prototype — a design resource on @figmadesign. The ability to build these no code games/apps all within Figma is insane! figma.com/community/file… Inspired by @zyumbik's User Input in Figma

This also means that our design system will be consistent with the design tokens that the developers use. `$grey30: #CFDCE5;` and `$border-color: $grey30;` (3/3)

For example, the global design system we can define Gray 30 shade and in the individual products design system we can define Border Colour to be Gray 30 and use Border Colour everywhere in the product. (2/3)

@figmadesign Like there is a way to create components of component instances, it would be good to be able to create colour styles from another colour style. This would greatly help in discoverability and ease the process of updates when there are any. (1/3)

@figmadesign How do I access these icons now? 😑 You guys could have kept it as a scrollable list itself! @skuwamoto

We've made some final tweaks... So I recorded a demo of running the Tailwind Converter Shift against laravelshift.com (which uses Bootstrap 3). This kind of blew my mind, which means we're ready to release a beta version next week. 🤯

@edumicro @figmadesign That’s precisely what I tried with auto layout. And I'm sure we will have more smaller apps within @figmadesign You can check out the file here figma.com/file/HHsI1lSm1…
