INDEPENDENCE DAY MESSAGE TO LAGOSIANS AND NIGERIANS My dear Lagosians and fellow Nigerians, Today, as we celebrate our nation’s Independence Day, I join millions of Nigerians at home and across the world in celebrating the resilience, courage and enduring spirit of our great nation. Independence is more than the raising of our national flag. It is the freedom to dream, the opportunity to prosper, and the responsibility to build a nation where every citizen can live with dignity, justice and hope. Nigeria is blessed with enormous human and natural resources. Our people are hardworking, innovative and resilient. Yet, the Nigeria we desire requires deliberate rebuilding — stronger institutions, better opportunities for our young people, quality education and healthcare, support for businesses, and accountable leadership that puts the people first. For Lagos, our responsibility is even greater. We are determined to rebuild a Lagos that is formal, functional, prosperous and inclusive — a Lagos where government works for the people, where every community matters, where our young people can build meaningful futures, and where prosperity reaches every household. And beyond Lagos, we are determined to contribute to the rebuilding of a Nigeria that is for all — a Nigeria where no citizen is forgotten, where every region and community has a sense of belonging, and where our diversity becomes a source of strength rather than division. Dr. Adedayo Akin-Taylor has been a house-hold name in Eti-Osa for many years, providing support to vulnerable community people. Even without being a government official she has proven herself worthy enough to be the NDC House of Reps. candidate for Eti-Osa Federal Constituency.

Yesterday at the Federal High Court Lagos State Judicial Division, Hon. Justice D.E. Osiagor hearing the case filed by Dr. Naheem Balogun against the NDC seeking the restoration of his candidature haven won the governorship primary as confirmed by the INEC CTC Result.

Often political parties field candidates that are unpopular, hence, leaving voters with no option than to support incapable politicians. This time around Eti-Osa is blessed to have Dr. Adedayo Akin-Taylor Ekong as the ✌🏿NDC Federal Constituency Candidate for the House of Reps.

Nigeria does not belong more to any particular ethic group. Ethnicity is creating divisiveness, which is weakening our cohesivity national development. We must di-tribalised Nigeria and place country first to effectively harness our cognitive diversity.

To be the president of Nigeria is not by word of mounts or by proxy as we have currently, but one who truly has capacity to represent the people. Nigeria is too deeply disoriented and dynamic a country to have a president who is practically incapacitated.
