@ATMcB4D4SS @PokemonGoApp @ShadowBallers Sorry to see you go and hope you return. Agree with you on all points except the xl candy - but who knows. I enjoy grinds so that part motivates me. More of my frustration comes from the very few reasonable ways to obtain it though

Usually not the type to tweet out stuff like this but it’s annoying to see so many good people lose their jobs … how can revenue be expected to NOT go back to pre covid times when all benefits of the covid features are rolled back and the game is now at the state where it was back during pre covid?! Want revenue? Easy: • lift the rrp limit • make incense more effective stationary • leave fun new „bugs“ as they are when it only benefits the player and makes the game exciting for once after so long • and in general: Listen 👏🏻 to 👏🏻 the 👏🏻 community 👏🏻 And with that boom revenue back and 230 people never would have lost their job. Good night #PokemonGO Twitter 🌙

That leaves to major avenues left - gaming revenue and AR technology. I’m not prepared to discuss the AR market but I’ve heard a lot and lot of lukewarm developments in that front. As for gaming - let’s be honest, they just have Pokémon Go

Uber is the most prevalent example. The other valued commodity they own is the POI map. However with AI developments, big companies are quickly building their own more efficiently than Niantic using crowdsourced labor 2/3

A couple of general tech business comments as it relates to Niantic. @JreSeawolf @PokeProfNet The location data that the community thinks is so valuable really isn’t. Think of how many apps have access to our locations and have much wider reach than Pogo. 1/3

@obfuscatedzen @PokeProfNet @JreSeawolf My guess is that the bigger issue with them is the lack of investment interest- probably more to do with AR technology than revenue/profit. Niantic isn’t alone in it’s struggle to find a market for AR technology either

@obfuscatedzen @PokeProfNet @JreSeawolf Niantic gets like 3 percent from these other titles. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Let’s be honest here fellas. Pokémon Go and Niantics overall revenue are going to be a direct correlation. Niantics has some nice side projects and some flops.

@jultar4001 @hukedanfonix @CalebPeng @MichaelSteranka @NianticLabs @PokemonGoApp @SpeediestChief2 If profits are up, it’s because they cut costs. Revenue is down. Regardless-for young tech companies revenue and profit are second to market share and cap. It’s about driving that evaluation up. Hints why they want our location data even if they aren’t “selling it”.

@jultar4001 @hukedanfonix @CalebPeng @MichaelSteranka @NianticLabs @PokemonGoApp @SpeediestChief2 You can publicly accept blame and still take necessary action in private (including terminating an employee if it’s indeed necessary). In fact you need to. Your team should know that you have their back.

@jultar4001 @hukedanfonix @CalebPeng @MichaelSteranka @NianticLabs @PokemonGoApp @SpeediestChief2 Part of being a leader in a company is accepting responsibility when things aren’t technically your fault. Great leaders accept blame and pass on praise

@SpeediestChief2 You see, when players are enjoying themselves from their couch, the game needs to be all about getting outside to explore. But, when the players are enjoying getting out and exploring, that's an unintended effect and must be removed. who am i kidding we just sell location data.

@pokedaxi Wow number 14..I'm speechless. That feature was literally the only thing that saved pogo from instant death during pandemic. They are so ungrateful that players still stood by them n willing to drop money to use remote raid passes during that dark age of pandemic
