Today we're publishing a study, in collaboration with @GCRTA and @countyplanning, on transit-oriented development (TOD) and the state of TOD in Cleveland. storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/9b1f27…
The County and RTA are leading an effort to study TOD zoning in our region, and we developed this to reflect what we see in Cleveland. First, what is TOD? Simply put, it means: build/locate things people want close to frequent transit.
Why TOD? It aligns with many of our values and ongoing initiatives, like @VisionZeroCLE, the 15-minute city initiative, our climate action goals, and connects with public health.
One goal of this study is to start thinking about how transit-supportive Cleveland's neighborhood are, or aren't. Population density is one of the most significant indicators of transit success. For this analysis, 30 units/acre is the minimum threshold to be transit-supportive.
