@mattyglesias According to the NYT recent poll, 80% believe the economy is fair/poor
@mattyglesias It's hard to figure what @GOP doesn't like about: 1. Record-high stock market. 2. Record-low unemployment. 3. Wages rising faster than prices. Maybe they just don't like it when Democratic policies succeed.
@mattyglesias @erikbryn Digg up an old receipt, go down and buy the same. Come back to me and tell me all the good news.
Job numbers are artificially lifted by record illegal immigration, which adds about 250k people a month to the workforce. Meanwhile, median real household income is $74.6k according to most recent data, $4k below 2019 levels despite people working as hard as ever. We were used to median households going UP previously, from $70.8k in 2016 to $78.3k in 2019 (over 10% growth in three years). When purchasing power gets crushed the economy is bad. By the mainstream media’s standard the Soviet Union, which has zero unemployment, had a “great economy”. The gaslighting of the American people continues, to reelect democrats and make their media friends more powerful.
@mattyglesias @HC_Richardson Corporate greed is making costs higher… Econ 101
@mattyglesias There's a word for that, "Propaganda"
@mattyglesias It's impressive that you think that picture of a headline is "economic news."
