@80s_retro56968 I have both original models, so unless they restrict new firmware (which hopefully will include some core updates) to the + variants only, I’ll be sticking with them until they offer a more significant upgrade.

@80s_retro56968 I feel like the general MO for analogue is to release a low supply first run to build FOMO, then announce another run in a month or two with significantly more stock so everyone who didn’t get one the first time feels like they lucked out.

@QuickPaw @Fhajfbwkfisn @TakiUdon_ I think the build quality is good compared to what’s out there otherwise for mister, but it still needs refinement. It feels a little cheap compared to an analogue product.

@XOMB0BBY @TakiUdon_ I think SS1 can get there but it still feels pretty hobbyist level. I don’t mind that but there’s something special about a turnkey product like the ones analogue makes.

@XOMB0BBY @TakiUdon_ I’m looking for ease of use first and foremost. Analogue does that the best, in that when I turn on my Super NT, it feels like I’m turning on my OG SNES (which I also do a lot). Mister obv has superior cores so there’s that.

@Fhajfbwkfisn @TakiUdon_ The power button has slop, the component door flap barely stays in place, and the dip switches feel too hobbyist. Compared to an analogue I just doesn’t feel like it’s quite ready to share the stage. But! I will say that it is leaps and bounds better than most DE-10 nano cases.

@theodorvaryag @XOMB0BBY @Run_Freeman @TakiUdon_ This is the major problem I had with it. Why do I have to use two controllers to play a game? Nah, I’ll just use OG hardware or super NT.

@Mr_Boo_Berry @RetroJeff83 I’ve always used FirebrandX’s Mega Sg audio settings and it’s close enough. I hope they revisit it though (and backport it).

@Wario64 Just a reminder that this dev never bothered to release the final patch for their previous game on consoles and it’s janky as hell.

@Mr_Boo_Berry @Fendera_ @analogue Yup, I was excited at first but this looks like a very incremental update. Cool that they’re doing another run though. Aside from the rare bug it’s a great piece of hardware. I run mine clean through the RT4K with Kuro’s D Series profile and it looks phenomenal.

@adamfowler23 @SethFromMaine Looks like the exact same OS to me. Hopefully they won’t be petty and lock OG customers out of new firmware, because this otherwise looks like a very incremental update.

@torgojones @SethFromMaine Mega SG has always worked with Sega CD. This was a Day One feature when the original released. And yes, Mega Everdrive Pro works just fine with it. It’s a fantastic combo.

@Fendera_ @Mr_Boo_Berry @analogue It won’t look as good on the super NT because it’s 1080p only. You need 4K to get more convincing scanlines. Hopefully they at least overhaul it because the scanline implementation on the super NT and mega sg suuuucks. Looks amazing through an RT4K though.

@HauntedGamer83 @mc_nutts @analogue Plus the analogue systems have always lagged behind mister cores. I still find weird bugs every now and again and the super NT core hasn’t been updated since 2023.

@analogue After spending a little more time reading, I feel like this is maybe a little disappointing. I was hoping that when you revisited the SNES/Genesis, you would offer an experience akin to the A3D, with crt filter masks, etc. The scanline options in the Super NT kinda suck in 2026.

@analogue Will the originals get the same/similar firmware updates as this one or are they stuck on the last firmware?
