@MatGalaxsi It was only earlier today that a totally separate clip from Nichijou showed up in my YouTube recommendations, what a coincidence 😁 Happy New Year indeed!

@Ecoludologist Oh dang, it's certainly true that even 2000 was a big year for futuristic imagination (and now it's more than 3/4 of my current life ago). Here's hoping reality lives up to the hype when we get there. Perhaps 2019 can be my social media year :p

@Ecoludologist Stahp. The phrase "next year" is off limits for the next three months.

@Ecoludologist Ah. Ahhhh. Yes, yes you do. I'll be over here with the slightly less existential dread filling typhoon alerts (but promise to be a good absentee voter for whenever that happens).

@Ecoludologist Ooh is Australia getting an emergency alert system too? Although Presidential makes it sound more like America

@Matgalaxsi Happy birthday Matt, hope you had an awesome day! Sending my support even now from Japan too, let's have a gaming night catch-up or something sometime ✨

@Ecoludologist Mechanical pencils are a definite yes in my experience, dental floss I'm not too sure on but since they let you carry charger cables I have to assume dental floss would be fine too (ignoring XKCD's direct reference to why this logic may not follow through).

@Ecoludologist Welp, I didn't recognise the symptoms before but I'm afraid I've partaken in this behaviour not even an hour ago. In my case I would like to blame popsockets for making it so easy to mindlessly carry a phone though.

@Ecoludologist *Despite being from 1903, even this poem actually includes two characters (ゐ(i) & ゑ(e)) no longer used in 21st century Japanese because they doubled up with い(i) & え(e) in modern usage.

@Ecoludologist Also I had a look on Wikipedia and it seems someone wrote a new poem in 1903 to include the consonant ん(n): とりなくこゑすゆめさませみよあけわたるひんかしをそらいろはえておきつへにほふねむれゐぬもやのうち Gives a view of the modern* character set too.

@Ecoludologist Why yes, I am. Returning 22/8 though. Also don't let the picture fool you, I normally just go to school everyday as the standard routine.

@Ecoludologist And I can't imagine how many times this has been said, but by gosh is 140 characters limiting.

@Ecoludologist See, it occured to me as it posted that this probably wasn't the best way. But what's past is passed; I accept my blatant consumerism ways.
