Confirmed profile - 26 V3 Starlink satellites (not 20, that was outdated), 275km altitude, 6 orbits over 10 hours, splashdown Pacific Ocean west of Chile. Neither the booster nor the ship attempts a catch this flight - both do controlled splashdowns. That's now officially Flight 15's job. Tesla Roadster reservations reopened globally Sept 19 ($50K deposit) ahead of the Oct 1 reveal in Waco, Texas - and there's now a concrete signal behind it: an FAA no-fly zone near Waco has been filed specifically pointing to the event. final upd: maybe, hopefully... date slipped again NET September 22 now, not the 18th (third schedule change in a few weeks). No official reason given publicly. but the delay window wasn't idle: SpaceX used it to run real catch-rehearsal testing on ship 42 - the vehicle for flight 15, not 14.. on sept 11-12, ship 42 was lifted into pad 2's chopstick arms without its stabilizer legs engaged, simulating an actual catch position, then engineers practiced reconnecting the ship quick disconnect arm (the umbilical that drains leftover fuel from a caught vehicle) multiple times. Musk has now confirmed directly: flight 15 is where the first-ever ship catch attempt happens, not 14. so while this flight waits on its launch license, the next one's hardest milestone is already in active rehearsal. Also solid: faa's final environmental clearance (FONSI/ROD) is done. actual launch license is the one thing still pending.
