As a Canadian I can confirm that 2-3 hours is not a long drive. As a resident of Scotland I can also agree that 2-3 hours is an eternity to drive and would be only done in extreme circumstances. I now pretty much cry at the thought of driving 45 mins to Edinburgh.

I’m sorry WHAT?! Who does this to their child, a literal child, whose executive functioning skills are still developing and who is meant to trust their parent to support them unconditionally?
My kid packed his project last night and forgot to bring it to school this morning. I saw it as we left the house and it pains me not to remind him. That bitterness as he walked to his classroom was horrible for me to watch, but necessary for him to grow up.
No where & no life is perfect but nights like this make me very grateful for where I am now. Almost 5 years since I saw an advert for teaching jobs in #Orkney & thought 'why not'. Currently stood on my doorstep listening to the quiet & I can just hear the sea in the bay 😍

When I was young, I didn't know any kids with autism. The rate was 1 in 10,000. Now it's 1 in 36. The autism epidemic began in 1990. And it's not because our genes have changed.

Another thing I’ll never understand about the PIP assessments is why eating, cooking, showering, toilet needs, etc. are included… But cleaning isn’t. Something that’s vital, and that many disabled people struggle with, isn’t an admissible consideration. It’s disgusting tbh.
