Can you imagine if I was seeing your kid for something serious and I just cut you off and said “oops gotta head to my next meeting let’s take this up again in 2 months when you come back”

Anyway the reason we run late is that it’s utterly impossible to accurately predict needed time and we do work that can’t be put on hold until you can circle back.
Additionally, especially in pediatrics, we care for patients who are not actually responsible for whether they are on time or not, and who can suffer if not seen, so we tend to be flexible about lateness
I do fully get why it’s frustrating. And I apologize every time I’m late. But that’s why.
