The tweet about accidentally inviting the whole NHS to a teams meeting earlier got me thinking again that it would be so useful if staff could have more comprehensive training in these IT systems. I am sure we underuse them…. @__hutch @ClaireLambie1

What’s the latest thinking? As specialist palliative care providers are hospices expected to care for people with the most complex needs, or provide palliative care for everyone regardless of complexity? The discussions about hospice funding this week have left me perplexed!

Whilst palliative parenteral nutrition can give some patients many more months of life, for others it can prolong inpatient days owing to set-up time and subsequent complications. Patient discussions vital in providing appropriate nutritional care. #NutritionMatters

This is a really interesting point! May be less relevant in Palliative Medicine as many of our patients do have swallowing problems - but how often do we just mindlessly switch to liquids without considering things such as cost, volume, or environmental impact? 🤔
Anyone in GP land ever responded to adult without swallowing problems saying “I can’t take tablets” by offering an appointment with the practice nurse to teach them how to take pills? I hadn’t, which seems odd to me now!
