Not sure why a federal government that can launch a war against Libya, halfway across the world, at a moment's notice, can't get free and high-quality masks to every American's home nearly 2 years into the worst pandemic for a century.

@mehdirhasan I guess infrastructure for war has always been paramount.. healthcare for the public good, not so much.
@mehdirhasan @DrEricDing And rapid test kits…
@mehdirhasan @DrEricDing Because endless wars are the priority. American lives are expendable.
@mehdirhasan @DrEricDing Sadly, it’s a colossal failure of leadership from the top.
@mehdirhasan @DrEricDing It's not "can't" but rather, "chooses not to."
@mehdirhasan @nhannahjones N95s are respirators, not known as masks. Only a few private companies produce respirators that meet OSHA standards. As well, they are supposed to be single use. You are asking government to snap fingers and have literally billions of them on hand at any time.
@mehdirhasan Well Mehdi, the federal govt handed billions to each state for a host of things. Ohio Capital Journal reported Gov. DeWine still is holding $18bil from the American Rescue Plan. Why can’t the states do this with the money they’ve been handed.
@mehdirhasan Maybe give the contract to the Department of Defense. They can air drop them on us.
