The UK’s September 2023 mean temperature of 15.2°C puts it level with 2006’s record figure. However, September also had a real mix of conditions, with the second half of the month much more unsettled. 🧵
@metoffice @Lauratobin1 No weather forecaster I saw gave any sense this was in the offing during Sep. Instead their favourite word ("chilly") was used wherever possible. Forecasters have an important educational role regarding the climate crisis, as too many people remain blasé about it. #ClimateCrisis
