I try not to lay into umpires too much beyond a call here and there because it’s a really tough job and a lot of them are better than we probably give them credit for. But this umpire inserted himself into the game tonight. There’s no question about it. And that’s disappointing.

Everyone knows I hate umpires and don’t respect them. But rarely do I think they are so shitty they directly impact the outcome of a game. This home plate umpire totally changed the outcome of this game. Yes, the Yankees relievers were bad. This guy was ten times worse.
