$AAPL is up 40% over the past 12 months and sitting at a new all-time high. The AI agent story usually points at software and chips. The gateway to all of it is easy to overlook. Apple $AAPL devices are the primary door to the internet for more than 145 million Americans and over 1 billion people worldwide. As AI agents move from the lab into daily life, most people will reach them through a phone or a tablet. That hardware layer sits in Apple's hands. Every AI app, every assistant, every agent that needs a screen and a user runs through devices Apple controls. The company does not need to win the model race to profit from it. It needs to stay the place a billion people open their apps. That position is why the market is treating $AAPL as an AI winner, not an AI laggard, even without a flashy model of its own. The all-time high says investors are starting to price in the gateway advantage. When the tool is everywhere and the audience is a billion people deep, the platform owner rarely gets left behind. Is Apple the quiet AI winner, or is the market ahead of itself here?
