There’s a sales meme “don’t mistake busy-ness with business” that points to the fact that you might take pride in spending lots of time in meetings, sending emails, making phone calls, but at the end of the day you have to close business.
The same goes for engineering. It’s not…
Anyone else think that with the current trends you’ll just end up writing platform-specific code on these cross-platform frameworks?
Especially Liquid Glass seems to be causing that shift.

Can’t believe US is seriously considering the 100k cost for the H-1B visa. Attracting the best foreign talent is likely the main reason for their technological and economical success. Massive self-own.

We kept hearing that complex iOS builds and broken monorepos were showstoppers for enterprises using React Native.
Wasn’t easy but we fixed both in Expo SDK 54 🔥
No risky shortcuts like switching bundlers, and no need to change package managers (but you should try bun).

"Convex is new and risky. SQL is forever!"
In 1999, I used Python at my startup: "Python is new and risky. Perl is forever!"
In 2014, I introduced Rust at Dropbox: "Rust is new and risky. C++ is forever!"
Trust your instincts. If you see the future coming, pull it forward.
