I'll never hear of a Trump rally again without reflecting on them trampling and killing their own, smearing feces and urine in Statuary Hall. It was already ugly, already deadly delusion. Now, a true sewer.
In the Analects a fellow notices Confucius and says "What he's trying is impossible." His friend adds, "It is vital he continues to anyway." Outside transactional results rests a realm sublime.
The one desert of which I know not its crossing: life without loyalty or devotion, to anyone or anything. Lives which cut but do not wish healing. Like someone forgetting the sky ends where the ground begins.
I urge all Americans to try to vote in person. Voting by a mail system that the dictator has in his pocket may seriously lead to your vote being thrown out. He will try to stop the election by stopping the mail-in count. Circumvent this, folks.
It took a solitude to approach humanity, finally equal, all souls as gemstone and glow and not a little magic. Before, worth was only measured in tribes. Now when I cross paths with others, I respect the sprawling mysteries I feel are there.
Of the thought experiment: in an apocalyptic scenario, you can only pick 5 people to survive; many want to pick a carpenter, a farmer, a medic etc. Some of us would save anyone we could. There are books, and we are all valid.
When I dress in the morning, it's like I'm cosplaying a character which does not exist yet. I recognize him immediately, that illusion of a separate self. After ego-death there is haunting by the ghost of ego, mementos of a circular journey.
During shutdown, I felt almost indulgent. I loved my home, moved and made a new home I could love. I took the solitude in like a warm bath. This new normal I've learned to live with. I love the anonymity of masks. The quietude.
My life pre-Covid. My life post-Covid. The hermit-like poverty of my first marriage, and the decade of solitude, help me withstand this uncertainty of being furloughed. I have already faced so much worse.
The past as tiny spheres; soap bubbles taken by mountain winds, into a fog swallowing them. Arms behind back, pacing. Utterly unresolved. A wide plateau, shimmering light in the distance.
Free government-paid housing, health care, and drugs- the President of the United States is the greatest benefactor of socialism, more so than any tax-paying citizen. Marinate on that for a minute.
As a US citizen, you either help those who help racists, or you don't. If you really have to stop and think about that, you're part of why this is still, after 400 years, a racist country.
Guns seem to me something more than self-defense. They're based on a premise that more lethal violence will reduce overall lethal violence. I can personally attest that this is nonsense. As humans is it just a matter of who is more deadly? Who are we?
Anti-choice laws will never stop abortions. They will take more life by putting the mother's health in danger by making a choice about her own body w/out medical help. "Pro-life" is just code for letting women die just in case they may birth a male.
An American history whitewashed of slavery, genocide, and brutality would be a terrifying denial of the suffering of countless souls that helped build and codify a caste system based on a conviction that the high caste has all rights, the lower none.
How can I recognize the legitimacy of a federal government that makes Jim Jones look tame? This is a history-denying, science-denying death cult run by a lunatic dictator who wants to kill and hurt those who do not worship him. This is insanity.
No life is safe until all lives are safe. All genders, all ethnicities, all orientations, all castes, are mirrors of our own worth. Hate towards any is hate towards all. This should be as natural as breathing. This could be as natural as breathing.
If you're anti-science and anti-history, what's left? Racism denial in America is just as hateful as Holocaust denial. Can't Trump's followers see that?
When the dictator-worshippers say that support of Black lives is automatically hateful, Marxist, or terrorist, or sedition, look deep into your own human heart and ask yourself if such propaganda is not racist. Resist it, in the name of all races.
In good conscience I am unsure that a government run by an unelected dictator, in support of extrajudicial killings and armed paramilitary vigilantes, calling all dissent "terrorism," and mass murdering by neglect, is a valid government at all.
